Blair's route into filmmaking wasn't conventional, and that's the point. Trained as a dancer, he taught himself filmmaking from the ground up, learning to translate the language of movement into the language of film. That grounding sets him apart: he doesn't just film dance, he understands it. The rhythm, the tension, the story in a body's motion and brings that same eye to every project he takes on, from branded content to commercials.

Since founding Directed By Blair, he's built a body of work that spans three micro short films for Rural Media's ArtFlicks series, an interior film for Andaz Liverpool Street Hotel, and dance films for individuals and companies across the UK. His film OUTSIDE IN was selected for the Ikaria Dance Festival 2026 in Greece, recognition of a distinctive style now finding audiences beyond the UK.
